Community Engagement Core Featured on NIEHS Website

Congratulations to the CIEHS Community Engagement Core (CEC) for their recognition on the NIEHS Core Center Spotlight website, showcasing their impactful efforts in engaging students in community PFAS testing. A high school chemistry teacher in western Kentucky collaborated with the CEC to create a research project for students addressing PFAS-contaminated water. Under the guidance of Drs. Jamie Young Wise and Luz Huntington-Moskos, approximately 20 students from Henderson County High School conducted hands-on research, collecting and analyzing water samples to gain valuable insights into environmental health and community involvement in addressing water contamination issues.
