Dr. Kelli Bullard Dunn serves in a number of capacities at the University of Louisville including as the Kentucky Adult Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program Director and the Vice Dean of Community Engagement & Diversity at the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine. In these roles, she enjoys and values the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals across the state on a variety of issues as the Vice Dean; a position she has held since 2015. As Director of the Kentucky AHEC Program, her duties include coordinating activities for students and other professionals utilizing the center, serving as the regional contact person for the AHEC, and being involved with the grant writing and reporting.

Through her work with the Kentucky AHEC, Dr. Bullard Dunn interacts with physicians (in both rural and urban settings), health science students at both the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky, community leaders, and elected officials in Frankfort. Dr. Bullard Dunn notes that environmental health is an underappreciated area when it comes to the epidemiology of disease. She emphasizes the existing overlap between healthcare disparities and exposure to environmental health concerns in her own medical practice as well. Dr. Bullard Dunn states that multiple environmental health issues impact her patients, including lack of access to clean water, presence of radon in the home, environmental toxin exposure, and tobacco usage (whether it is because of primary or secondary exposure to smoke).
