Symposium Abstract
Submit an Abstract for CIEHS Symposium
Submission of an abstract signifies intent to display a scientific poster during the CIEHS Symposium. Posters must be displayed for the entire session to which assigned. Presenting authors are required to be present for the first half of the session. Abstracts submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
To be eligible, the principle author must be must be a CIEHS member or a CIEHS member's trainee or staff.
Individuals may submit only one abstract as the presenting (first) author. The assignment of the poster for presentation will be according to the status category of the presenting author.
All authors must have approved the abstract for submission. Author approval will be verified. Only structured abstracts will be accepted for presentation. Each abstract must have the following sections: Background/Introduction, Hypothesis/Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. If statistics were used to determine significance, the statistical method must be stated and criterion for significance defined in ‘Methods’ section. The submission form will provide individual boxes for entering text for each section. In addition, a box for acknowledging grant support will be provided. The total body of the abstract may not exceed 2,500 characters including spaces. Abstract title and author names and affiliations do not count toward the character limit. Figures and tables are not allowed.
The following five categories will be judged at the Symposium and winners for each category will receive a $500 travel award voucher to present their work at a National or International meeting.

- Masters Graduate Student and Pre-Candidacy Ph.D. Students
- Ph.D. candidates
- Postdoctoral Fellow
- Research Staff
High school students are also encouraged to submit and will receive a certificate.

Abstracts will be embargoed from public access for one year, but available to the UofL community with UofL login credentials.
