Student Mandatory Title IX Training
UofL Student Mandatory Sexual Assault Prevention Training (Title IX Training)
The University of Louisville is committed to creating a safe environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex. One way we work to create a positive environment for all Cardinals is to require Sexual Assault Prevention Training for all students using the Vector Information System.
Troubleshooting the Most Common Training Issues
The required training consists of modules through a partner site called Vector Solutions. Please use the following link to go directly to the training: https://louisvillestudents-ky.safecolleges.com/ . You’ll log with your UofL id, and you should see the training on your dashboard. We pull reports out of the Vector Solutions and remove the course from your ULink “to do” list after completion.
- If you cannot access the training by clicking on the Sexual Assault Prevention Training link on the University of Louisville Title IX page and entering your Ulink userid and password to log in to the Vector Solutions Website, please close your browser and clear your cache or utilize an alternative browser. This will solve most problems and will overcome the “stale request” message you may getting.
- If you can access the Vector Solutions platform and your Sexual Assault Prevention Training does not appear on the “My Assignments” portion of your record, please email us at titleix@louisville.edu and include your full name and your ULink userid. We will troubleshoot your account, get the appropriate course assigned and get back to you as soon as practicable. To insure that you get credit for taking the appropriate course, please do not take an unassigned course unless you are doing so for your own edification.
For technical issues within the Vector Solutions platform, support is available within the course or by contacting Vector Solutions at support.education@vectorsolutions.com, Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm EST.
Ulink is set to time out after a period of inactivity and for some students, the training link from Ulink does not open in a new browser window. From Ulink right click the hyperlink to training and select “open in new window”. This will allow you to exit Ulink and complete the training without the time out notice.
Some students have reported an error message that says something about a Microsoft error. The message about Microsoft online occurs when your web browser cannot connect to the UofL Single Sign-on. You can resolve this by ensuring you have updated your browser, clearing your browser cache and disabling pop-up blockers.

The training is a mandatory requirement for all incoming students. Failure to complete the Title IX training does NOT put a hold on your account. The course is merely listed on your “to do” list in ULink. If you are having issues with registration, please contact the Registrar’s Office by emailing REGOFF@louisville.edu or calling 502-852-6522. It is likely there is some other issue that they will need to help identify.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this Sexual Violence Prevention training. Vector Solutions, our training platform, and ULink do not speak directly to one another. To remove the holds from ULink a report is pulled from Vector Solutions and processed manually. The IT Department is currently working on clearing the training from your “to do” list in ULink.
Thank you for your response regarding the required sexual violence prevention training. I see that you completed this training on [insert date]. Due to how we must pull the email addresses of students with outstanding completions, those who completed the training in the last week may have received this reminder though they have completed the training. Please disregard this notice.

If it is longer than one week, the email notices are likely related to Vector’s Follow Up Survey. While this is encouraged, it is not required.
Student Mandatory Sexual Assault Prevention Training Basic FAQs
We recognize that sexual assault is a societal issue that also affects college campuses, and we are committed to enhancing the safety of our students. We provide this training in an effort to make our campus safer and to inform students as to resources to prevent sexual assault and to resources to respond to sexual assault.
Additionally, the University is required by federal law, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), to provide “primary prevention and awareness programs for all incoming students.” The University utilizes curriculum provided by Vector Solutions in the form of a video module to meet the training requirements of the law. The video module ends with an assessment of learning in the form of a quiz that must be passed to complete the training. Students who complete the course and pass the associated quiz will receive an electronic certificate of completion provided by Vector Solutions.
The training should ideally be completed before the first day of classes for undergraduate and graduate students in the Fall semester with a deadline of no later than September 15th for the Fall Semester and no later than February 15th for the Spring Semester. This allows students to begin the University of Louisville experience equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to protect their safety. Some professional students start classes in the summer and they should complete this training prior to September 15th.
The University of Louisville has partnered with Vector Solutions to provide the curriculum content, access to the training module online, and individual confirmation of completion. This curriculum is utilized by many universities and is designed with the contemporary college student experience in mind.

View the video and engage in the learning process regarding sexual violence. The video module begins with a statement from the University of Louisville, then proceeds to an ungraded pre-assessment, and ends with a graded assessment of learning that must be passed to complete the training.
To pass the assessment a student must answer 80% of the questions correctly. If a student does not pass the assessment, they have the option to retake the assessment until they pass. A certificate of completion will not be issued until all content is viewed and the assessment is passed.
The video module ends with an assessment of learning in the form of a quiz that must be passed to complete the training. Students who complete the course and pass the associated quiz will receive an electronic certificate of completion provided by Vector Solutions and the University will be notified of your completion. In the case of undergraduate students, the electronic certificate of completion will be turned in to your instructor as part of an assignment in your campus culture class. Graduate and Professional students should retain a copy of their certificate to verify their completion.

As noted above, this curriculum is utilized by many universities and is designed with the contemporary college student experience in mind. Vector Solutions has designed this curriculum with survivors in mind, and many survivors have completed the training module as is. Nevertheless, this training touches on topics that are sensitive and that may evoke an emotional reaction, particularly during the testimonial portion of each section.
Some strategies to address concerns:
- The assigned training module has embedded trigger warnings and provides the ability for the user to mute the sound on the testimonial content and to also blank the screen. When the testimonial is complete, the sound and screen image will return, and the training will continue.
- Consider having a trusted friend or relative sit with you while you take the training.
- Contact the University of Louisville PEACC Center: 502-852-2663; email: peacc@louisville.edu and request a support person to view the module with you.
- If you believe this training would be distressing even with modifications described above and you would prefer an alternative curriculum, please contact the Title IX Office 502-852-5787 or titleix@louisville.edu and we will replace the originally assigned module with two modules that have a combined length that is slightly longer than the original curriculum. These two modules have the testimonials by students deleted.
