Welcome to the University of Louisville's Writing Center

Supporting writers. Building community. Researching literacy.

Here at the Writing Center, we believe that writers deserve supportive, human(e) feedback that helps them develop their own ways of learning, communicating and getting work done.

We foster vibrant writing cultures across the university and city. Creative writers get together, writing instructors plan their courses and graduate students and faculty develop their research.

Mostly, we believe that pursuing your own ideas (and talking with others about those ideas) is one of the most fulfilling things you can do.

We are also an active research site studying how writing is changing and what that means for us all.

We offer

1:1 appointments

50-minute, one-on-one appointments to all students, faculty and staff every day of the week, in-person and online.

Workshops, trainings and events

often in collaboration with departments and programs across campus as well as community partners.

Writing groups and teaching circles

collaborative spaces for writers and educators to share work, exchange feedback, and develop their craft together
