    KyCOMPASS - Perinatal Access Program

    Audrey Summers, MD

    Audrey Summers, M.D. currently serves as the medical director for KyCOMPASS (Kentucky Consultation and Outreach for Maternal Psychiatry and Support Services), which is Kentucky's first and only perinatal access program. It is a free service for providers and healthcare workers in Kentucky who care for women. The focus of this program is to support mental health during the perinatal period, from pregnancy through the first year postpartum, a critical stage that impacts birthing parents, partners, and families alike. KyCOMPASS provides a consultation service, education on perinatal mental health, and quick and easy access to mental health resources for providers and patients. More information can be found here.

    The professor of social and community psychiatry was the recipient of this year’s Vestermark Psychiatry Educator Award, which recognizes excellence, leadership, and creativity in the field of psychiatric education.
