Dr. Josephson is responsible for the administrative and clinical oversight of the child and adolescent psychiatric services at Bingham Clinic, Kosair Children’s Hospital and various consultation sites in the region.  He received his undergraduate degrees in Psychology/Sociology and his medical degree from the University of Alberta, Canada and Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency at the University of Minnesota where he was Chief Resident.  Dr. Josepshon received his board certification in psychiatry in 1982 and in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1983.  He has served on numerous departmental and university committees, as well as national committees such as the Committee on Family of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, APA Program Committee and the Executive Committee of the Society of Professors of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.   Dr. Josephson is a Specialist Site Visitor in Child Psychiatry for the Residency Review Committee for the ACGME and is a Senior Examiner in Child and Adult Psychiatry for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is an active journal reviewer and consultant and has presented numerous lectures nationally, internationally, regionally and locally on topics related to family therapy, psychiatric education, psychiatric diagnosis and spirituality in psychiatric practice. He is widely published in these areas.   His books on religion and psychiatric assessment are considered the student tex on this topic.   Dr. Josephson recently received the Oates Award, a national award recognizing contributions in the field of pastoral counseling, awarded by the Oates Institute.
