Bluegrass Regional Movement Disorders Symposium - October 20-21, 2017

The Bluegrass Regional Movement Disorders Symposium will bring together leaders in Movement disorders from Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana. The event will be an excellent opportunity to learn about new developments in Movement disorders and is designed for primary care providers, internists, geriatricians, general neurologists, and physicians in training and others in the health profession who will be exposed to patients with Parkinson disease or other movement disorders. The goal of this course is to provide an update on diagnosis and management on the most common movements disorders encountered in practice including Parkinson’s disease, Essential tremor, dystonia and functional (psychogenic) movement disorders.

6th Annual ISPCOP Symposium 2017: Perioperative Obesity, What’s New, What’s Next in 2017 - October 23, 2017

The focus of the symposium is to discuss predictors for the difficult airway and for the use of ultrasound for airway prediction. Likewise, ultrasound can be used for assessment of the filling status of the stomach in morbidly obese patients. Other topics are the use of supraglottic airways in adult morbidly obese patients and the dosing requirements for obese children undergoing general anesthesia.

Third Annual Caring for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Conference - November 4, 2017

To improve access to quality health care for adults with IDD, the University of Louisville School of Medicine, UofL School of Dentistry and the Lee Specialty Clinic are sponsoring the Third Annual Caring for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Conference. The conference will inform physical, occupational and speech therapists, physicians, dentists, social workers, patients and their caregivers about best current practices and future treatment directions for adults with IDD. Continuing education is supported, and individuals from the community are welcome at attend. There is no charge for this event.
