"My favorite aspect of studying at U of L would have to be the different resources that the university provides for their students to be successful. From the Writing Center that is located in the library to the Reach Center in Strickler Hall, all these resources are in place to benefit us as students. Having these different resources is a way to help us thrive in our academic endeavors and become agents of change within our society after we graduate."

Favorite aspect of studying at U of L:

There is a strong sense of community here at UofL, Like the city of Louisville itself, it is a unique mixture of southern hospitality and diverse urban culture. People are generally very friendly and helpful, from classmates to administrative staff to professors. I was raised a UK fan, but now that I've experienced UofL as a student I consider myself a Cardinal! (Don't tell my dad!)

Favorite aspect of studying at U of L:

"The ability to customize your graduate school experience, based on your interest.  I am currently pursuing a MSSW with a MFT specialization, which meets the requirements for 2 licensures.  Also, I have an interest in mental health in the African Diaspora, so I was afforded the opportunity to engage in a study abroad to Trinidad and Tobago.  Because of the course curriculum, a student can expand their portfolio and enter the work force as a competitor amongst other institutions."

It's clear that faculty across the University are dedicated to professional development, but also care about the well being of their students.

Kelsey Kaht

Major: Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry

Hometown: Florence, Kentucky

Undergraduate Institution: Thomas More College

Graduate Institution: University of Louisville

Favorite aspect of studying at U of L:

“Although I am a chemistry PhD student, it is very easy to meet and network with graduate students from other academic departments here at UofL. I come from a small undergraduate institution and I was worried that a large university would not foster good collaboration between departments, but UofL proves that it is easy to interact with people outside of your department. I love this because it is nice to hear about something other that chemistry every once in awhile.”
