Design faculty and students receive AIGA awards

Hite Art Institute, University of Louisville was well represented at tonight's AIGA Louisville annual The Show design awards. Assistant Professor Meena Khalili received a Best of Show for her Hite Art Institute MFA poster in the professional category. Meena also received an award for her New in Lou project. In the student awards category, we had eight awards. Chelsea Zoeller, BFA 2017, two projects from Meena Khalili's Adventures in Design Methods and Process class; Gwen Galeza, BFA 2017, for her Bertolli rebranding project in Steven Skaggs Identity Systems class; Emi Johnson for WCKD GOOD and Carol de Lucca for projects also in Khalili's Adventures class; Carol also received awards for her Dutch Folio project from Khalili's Book Forms class and Sambai packaging from Leslie Friesen's packaging class; and Rachel Suding received an award for her Ziti packaging project. Congratulations to all for their award-winning work!
In addition, our graphic design alums were well represented in the professional awards category, including Ashley Trommler (BFA 2011) and Amy Woods (BFA 2016), both at Fieldtrip. Eric VVarning (BFA 2015) Eric Warning Design. Liz Morse (BFA 2007) from Dot Dot Dash. Jason Laughlin (2000) Kindred Healthcare, Frances Ward-Simmons (2003) at Mightily. Quite a night!
