Biology Undergraduate Research

The Department of Biology faculty have alway engaged undergraduates into their research programs and provided an important part of the undergraduate education experience. Students have the opportunity to work one on one with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students in the laboratory setting. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and laboratory techniques that better prepare them for a scientific career.

Visit the faculty links provided below to get a brief overview of the faculty laboratories. Some faculty maintain their own web pages which give a more complete description of their research program. Please contact the individual faculty members if you have an interest in getting involved in an undergraduate research project.

A variety of additional research opportunities exist at the University including additional mentors, funding possibilities, summer programs, and various symposium events.
