  • Ownership Program

Short-term Checkout Program

Students may present their Cardinal Card student ID to check out a short-term loaner laptop for up to 4 hours at a time and for use while in the Belknap Academic Building. (Laptops may not leave the building.) Checkout hours begin at 8:30am and all laptops must be returned by 4:30pm.

Ownership Program

Students who have demonstrated financial and technological need may receive a free laptop. Be sure to check the minimum technology requirements of your academic unit as these laptops might not meet them. Specifically, these laptops do not meet minimum requirements for the Speed School.

Who is eligible for the program?

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate UofL students seeking their bachelor’s degree. (This program is not available for post-baccalaureate, second-degree seeking, or graduate students.)
  • You have accepted all federal/state financial aid offered. (See ULink or contact the Student Financial Aid Office to review award package.)
  • You have unmet financial need.
  • Should you have anticipated aid that will be awarded within a reasonable amount of time (such as a KEES award), you will be directed to utilize the SSC’s short term loaner program (see above) and public computer labs.
