Devin P. Brown

ETSCORN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AWARD

UofL senior Devin P. Brown has been awarded a 2017 Etscorn International Research Award. UofL awards the $5,000 Irvin F. and Alice S. Etscorn International Summer Research Award to promising undergraduates interested in conducting international research over the summer.

Brown will study Turkish at Indiana University in Bloomington with native speakers and attend informational sessions with agencies such as the FBI to consider applications for international scholarships that may include the Fulbright and Boren awards.

“Without this scholarship, I would not be able to attend IU this summer. I have applied for state-sponsored international scholarships multiple times to no avail. However, this program will exponentially strengthen my resume for future Fulbright, Critical Language and Boren Scholarships.”
