A robust innovation ecosystem requires close integration between academia, industry, entrepreneurs, and community.  The Hub coordinates connects and sponsors programs and partnerships that inspire and empower entrepreneurs and innovators from all of those sectors to develop and scale sustainable solutions that address health equity. To that end, we focus on two key spheres:

Innovation Core: Health Entrepreneurship

Our programming aims to support the success of startups at all stages, developing scalable solutions to health equity issues benefiting our community and beyond. Objectives include:

  • Establishing community partnerships that provide access to health and health equity related startups;

  • Identifying and mitigating key barriers/facilitators to start up success, with a focus on health companies and founders from historically marginalized communities;

  • Facilitating connections to and among existing resources such as mentors, finance, markets, etc.; and

  • Developing and deploying needed strategic resources to fill innovation ecosystem gaps.

Innovation Core: University Culture

We also aim to build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the university with a particular focus on social and health equity. Our objectives include:

  • Creating an inclusive student innovation space;

  • Offering programming for campus community across schools, departments and units;

  • Engaging students in programming; and

  • Integrate experiential learning with programs on and off campus.
