A Letter From Our Assistant Editor
Dear Readers,
As with each new issue of Miracle Monocle, lucky Issue 13 was prepared by a new cohort of editors. They brought keen and unique insights to our submission pool and put their everything into making the selections you read today (or tomorrow, or the next day, whatever day you decide to dive into our latest issue). This semester, these editors launched a social media campaign highlighting many of our talented previous contributors in an effort to bring new life to our archive of past issues. In addition, they kept alive the new category we debuted in our previous issue (check it out, it’s wonderful): Book Reviews! In this issue, you can read our suite of reviews of books of poetry from past and current contributors including Brandon Amico, Lisa Ampleman, John James, Rebecca Lehmann, and Andrew Rihn. The endeavor of reviewing these books is a challenge for our editors, as the books are read and reviewed after we’ve made our selections, but before we publish the issue for your enjoyment. This cohort of students editors were up to the task, however, and had some remarkable ideas about these powerful works of poetry. We hope you’ll enjoy these reviews and will check out these contributors’ works within our archives, and we also hope you enjoy the larger issue we’ve prepared for you. On a final note, we'd like to invite contributors with new books to send them our way. The Miracle Monocle Reviews category is just one way in which we've endeavored to support our writers beyond publication.
Best wishes,
Adam Yeich
Assistant Editor, Miracle Monocle
