The Letcher Autism Support Group

The Letcher Autism Support Group is a small group located in far Eastern Kentucky. We have worked hard to educate those around our children about autism. We have been together for almost 3 years, and had our first walk in April this year. Other activities during the month of April were: a luncheon at a local diner, radio spots by members of the group and some of our children, a bike show, and a bake sale. We have several of our members now involved in the "Train the Trainer" program through KATC, and are looking so forward to getting the classes up and running.  A local bike club also had a "Poker Run" in support of our group druing the month of August. During the Poker run, we were on the radio with our State Representative talking about autism.  We think we have done good job educating folks, but we realize we have only just begun the fight.
