Janey Andris


Janey Andris (she/her/hers) holds a PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisville, an MS in Early Childhood and Childhood General Education from Bank Street College of Education, and a BA in English Literature from Kenyon College. After teaching 4- and 5-year-olds for almost 15 years, she joined the Early Childhood Research Center full-time in 2020. The methodologies of her recent research include critical action research and qualitative evaluation studies. Other areas of interest include children's play in school settings, the early literacy and play nexus, and issues of school-based equity and access. She has two young children at home with whom she loves to hike, swim, read, and cook.
