-
CIEHS
- CIEHS research seeks to understand how life style factors interact with exposure to environmental toxicants in human health and disease and how life stage and gender influence these interactions.

Efficiency
- Maximizing the efficiency of Shared Resource Cores (SRC) for CIEHS members. (a) CIEHS PI meets with ITEMC to discuss and select ‘omics technology; (b) ITEMFC arranges meetings between PI, SRFC and BIFC; (c) PI brings samples directly to SRFC; (d) ITEMFC serves as primary contact between PI and SRFC, and monitors progress of sample analysis; (e) CIEHS facilitates data transfer between SRFC and BIFC.

- Giemsa banded chromosomes of a human lung cell following 6 months of exposure to hexavalent chromium. The karyotype is pseudo-tetraploid with several chromosomes exhibiting deletions and structural rearrangements. The Cytogenetics Facility Core provides expertise in identifying genetic anomalies induced by exposure to environmental agents.
