SUSANNA REMOLD

JEFF BARA

JEFF returned to our lab in March 2015, to work on interactions among bacteria. He is involved in a number of projects in the lab, but his current focus is on the role of pyocins in mediating interactions among P. aeruginosa, and in determining how abiotic factors affect use of pyocins in this species.

SARAH SPAULDING

SARAH is a PhD student in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program. She is beginning a project looking at interactions between environmental Pseudomonas collected by our laboratory and the protozoan predator Acanthamoebacastellani.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHERS

ZACH MATSON

ZACH is conducting independent research looking at competition among our household P. aeruginosa strains, and how its outcome depends on environmental conditions.

DREW DIDDLE

DREW is studying variability among our household P. aeruginosa in their responses to iron limitation and genotoxic stress.

LAB ALUMNI

Jeffrey Bara completed in PhD on the evolutionary ecology of dengue virus- mosquito larva interactions in Dec 2012. He continues to work in the field of medical entomology, at the Prairie Research Institute in Champagne IL.

Lindsey Willett McGee completed her PhD student in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology program in May 2013. Her dissertation addressed the evolution of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) in response to variable environments. She is currently a post doctoral fellow at the Florida State University, studying evolution of bacteriophage.

Megan Purdy completed her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program in August 2013, with a dissertation describing the biogeography of Pseudomonas in human homes. She is currently a student at University of Louisville's School of Law.

Ogo Onyiri completed her PhD  in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program in August 2015. Her dissertation addressed the metabolic profiles of household Pseudomonas, emphasizing P. aeruginosa.
