2022 Taiwan Local/Midterm Election

On November 26, 2022, voters in Taiwan headed to the polls for the country’s midterm elections. These elections focus on local races, but play an important role in signaling public preferences between the country’s parties on a national stage. They take place against a backdrop of increasing cross-strait tension in Taiwan’s relationship with the People’s Republic of China.
