Cleanroom

The John W. Shumaker Research Building Cleanroom is the Commonwealth's largest controlled-environment “core” facility needed for the fabrication of miniature devices.

DSC_0023.jpg The Service Center is housed within the new 10,000 square foot, seven bay, class 100 facility  designed by nationally-renown AGI Consultants.

This "cleanroom", with one of the  widest variety of micro/nano processing tools in the Southeast, allows UofL researchers to use a wide range of equipment to fabricate, package, and test various microelectronic devices and circuits.

With over 10 years of operating experience, our state-of-the-are facilities have been utilized extensively by researchers at U of L and other Universities throughout the Ohio Valley regions, as well as industry and government laboratories nationwide.
