INVITATION
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (IACS) was established in 1996 with 7 independent Sections, namely North America, South America, Japan, India, China, Europe and Russia. It has been registered as a non-profit organization in Canada and also incorporated as Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences Foundation, USA. The Academy promotes cardiovascular education to professionals and lay people in addition to promoting cardiovascular research and training. During the past 15 years, we have organized more than 100 conferences, symposia and workshops all over the world.
The American Section of the Academy is now initiating a new program “Cardiovascular Forum for Promoting Centers of Excellence and Young Investigators” to be held annually at different places in North America. The first Forum will be held August 15-17, 2013, in Louisville, KY. In addition to scheduling 4 scientific symposia sessions on the state-of-the-art investigations, this Forum will have 2 faculty orations in cardiovascular medicine and science and 2 award competitions for young investigators as well as 4 poster/mentoring sessions. We believe that the proposed Forum will help to promote the linkages and collaborations among the centers of excellence in addition to encouraging the training of cardiovascular clinical and biomedical scientists.
The organizing committee is delighted to invite cardiovascular clinical and biomedical scientists to the cardiovascular forum for promoting centers for excellence and young investigators in Louisville, Kentucky, August 15-17, 2013. The conference will include a two-day symposium which will focus on the following topics:
Autophagy and Cardiac Cell Death
MicroRNA and Cardiac Remodeling
Stem Cells and Cardiac Regeneration
Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome
In addition, orations in cardiovascular medicine and cardiovascular science will consist of 10 lectures by both young and established investigators. For more details, look for our second announcement in April 2013.
Looking forward to welcoming you to the cardiovascular forum for promoting centers of excellence and young investigators in Louisville, Kentucky this coming summer:
