Forensic Pathology Fellowship
Director:
The Division of Forensic Pathology, in association with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, performed 1181 autopsy examinations in 2003. The majority of these were forensic autopsies, performed in cases of sudden and unexpected or violent death. Members of the Division of Forensic Pathology also participate in the Clinical Forensic Medicine Program in which 207 living victims of violence were examined in 2003. The majority of these victims are children and the victims of domestic violence. The members of the Division of Forensic Pathology have provided countless consultations with various members of various local police departments, social service agencies, arson investigators, county attorneys and commonwealth attorneys from around the state. The Division of Forensic Pathology has an ACGME-accredited 12 month Forensic Pathology Fellowship training program for AP or AP-CP trained physicians wishing to subspecialize in this exciting area.
