The Verizon Wireless Federal Account Support Team is responsible for provisioning and servicing the wireless needs of our country's Federal agencies. Our services assist those agencies meet their mission-critical communication goals, whether it be for national security, disaster recovery or criminal investigations. Please retain this document and refer to it for helpful information regarding your wireless service and who to contact should you require assistance.
Programming Your Wireless Phone
- Power on your phone within any Verizon Wireless digital service area
- Dial *228 and then press SEND
- Press 1 to program your wireless phone
When the phone has been successfully programmed, you will hear an audio confirmation message.
This call is airtime free.
Updating Preferred Roaming List (PRL)
- Power on your phone within any Verizon Wireless digital service area.
- Dial *228 and then press SEND
- Press 2 to update your wireless phone
When the phone has been successfully updated, you will hear an audio confirmation message.
This call is airtime free.
Verizon Wireless is constantly advancing its roaming technology to provide you with superior roaming capabilities. By updating your PRL every few weeks, you can be sure you have access to our enhancements. As a result, you may experience:
- Longer battery life
- Fewer dropped or blocked calls
- Clear, crisp connections in more areas across the United States
- Ability to connect to the digital network in more parts of the country
Voicemail Set-up
- Press *86 and SEND from your phone. If calling from a touch-tone phone, enter your wireless number. If you hear a greeting, press # to proceed.
- Follow the prompts to personalize your password, greeting, and mailbox options.
You will be charged airtime for using your wireless phone to set-up or retrieve voicemail. Toll and/or long distance charges may also apply.
Voicemail Retrieval
§ Press *86 and SEND from your phone. To access your voicemail from outside the Verizon network or from a touch-tone phone, enter your wireless number. If you hear a greeting, press # to proceed.
- Enter your password and press #.
- Follow the prompts to listen to your voicemail messages.
