Setting Up GroupWise LDAP

These steps are used to set up GroupWise to use the LDAP address book.

1. Open the GroupWise client.
2. Select the “Address Book” icon.
3. Select the “Novell LDAP Address Book”.
4. Select the “Directories” button.
5. If there is no directory listed, create one using the following three instructions. If a directory is listed, continue following the instructions at step 6 below.
• Click the “Add” button.
• In the “Account name” field, enter “UofL LDAP Directory”. Click the “Next” button.
• In the “Server address” field, enter “ldapemail.louisville.edu”. Click the “Finish” button.
6. Select “UofL LDAP Directory”, then select “Properties”.
7. In the “Server name” field, enter “ldapemail.louisville.edu”. The “Server port” should remain at “389”.
8. Select the “Searching” tab.
9. Select the “Search Fields” button.
10. Select any fields you wish to use in your searches. You can only select four fields at a time.
11. Select the “OK” buttons until you return to the “Internet Directory Accounts” dialog, and then select the “Close” button.
12. Enter data into the fields and click the “Retrieve” button. Please note: some fields, such as “Country,” are not populated.
