MITC Room 113 Technology
A description of how to use the WiFi projector in the room
To use the MITC113 WiFi projector with Odyssey Client (after configuring Odyssey Client):
- Install the EMP NS client software (Click here to download it in a .ZIP file)
- Open Odyssey Client Manager
- Click CONNECTION
- Select EPSON
- Check CONNECT TO NETWORK
- Once an IP has been issued in Odyssey, run EMP NS Client
- Check MITC 113 and click CONNECT
- When prompted for the KEYWORD, enter the keyword that appears on the lower left corner of the proection screen
To add the Wireless Projector to the Odyssey Client (first time use):
- Open the Odessey Client Manager
- Left click NETWORKS
- Click ADD
- In the window that opens, verify the following settings:
- Network Type: Peer-to-Peer (ad hoc mode)
- Channel: default channel
- Association mode: open
- Encryption method: none
- Left click SCAN
- Select the Peer-to-Peer Networks tab
- Select EPSON
- Click OK
- Click OK
To used the WIRED (Ethernet) connection in conjunction with the WiFi Projector (Odyssey Client):
- Run the Odyssey Client Manager
- Under OPTIONS, select WIRELESS SUPPRESSION
- Uncheck "Use wireless connection only when no wired (ethernet) connection is present
- In Windows Control Panel, select INTERNET OPTIONS
- Under CONNECTIONS, select LAN SETTINGS
- Uncheck AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS
Configuring the Network Settings for Windows (non-Odyssey Client installation):
- Access your wireless network properties window (for example, in Windows XP, click START>CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS, then click NETWORK CONNECTIONS).
- Right click WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION and select PROPERTIES.
- Click the CONFIGURE button.
- Click on the ADVANCED tab.
- Check your wireless card/adapter device settings (depending on the type of card/adapter in use, some of the settings may differ from those listed here):
- Network Type: 802.11 Ad Hoc
- SSID should be set to match the assigned ESSID for the projector (EPSON)
- Make certain Encryption is disabled
- Click the GENERAL tab and make certain the card/adapter is enabled.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
