For Students Using A University Network Connection For The First Time

Refer to the Getting Started Guide for more information.

One of the biggest problems for our students is virus and malware infections. The speed of the university network may make you more susceptible to infection than on a home network.  By updating system files and having the latest virus protection software available, the risk of becoming infected is greatly reduced.

Free virus protection can be found at www.microsoft.com/security_essentials for PC users.

Free virus protection for Mac users can be found at the iTech eXpress store web page under Free Downloads > Virus Protection.

Keeping up with Windows and Apple updates is absolutely necessary to protect your information.
