IT Goal VIII: Develop educational and outreach programs

a. Maintain and expand community partnership programs. Efforts, such as the UofL Signature Partnership, provide needed support and services, and enhance the university’s image in the community. IT should look for new opportunities to partner with community organizations on educational and outreach programs, including

• Donating or redeploying usable equipment
• Mentoring and encouraging staff to volunteer

b. Expand distribution and awareness of public health information. Information Technology should continue working with organizations such as the African American Health Initiative (TAAHI) and Kentucky Educational Television (KET) to create and deliver health information to the minority and medically under-served communities through the creation and distribution of the broadcast television production “Kentucky Health”.

c. Participate online in national and global outreach and exchange projects. IT can assist UofL to partner with universities globally and nationally to develop educational opportunities based on discussion forums and video interaction.
