How-To obtain a MAC address for various devices

Identifying a MAC address for several different computer related devices

Xbox 360

Turn on console

Navigate to the System Area

Navigate to the Network Settings entry (then press the A button)

Navigate to the Edit Settings entry (then press the A button)

Navigate to the Advanced Settings entry (then press the A button)

Look for Wired Mac Address and the MAC Address is the number sequence under this heading



Nintendo Wii

1) From the home screen, select the "Wii" button in the lower left hand corner.
2) From here, select "Wii Settings" which will be the on-screen button on the right.
3) On the this screen, select the right arrow to advance to the 2nd set of settings.
4) Select the "Internet" option.
5) Select the "Console Information" option.
6) The MAC address will be listed under "USB Ethernet Adapter MAC Address".

Tivo

If your network adapter is compatible with the DVR and functioning properly, a media access control (MAC) address (an identifier unique to the network adapter you purchased) will be visible on the Phone & Network screen after you have completed Guided Setup. To check, go to TiVo Central by pressing the TiVo button; select Messages & Settings; then Settings, then Phone & Network. The MAC address should be on the right-hand side of the Phone & Network screen, towards the top.

Playstation

A. To obtain the MAC Address of the Network Adaptor using the Online Start-Up Disc:

• Original Version (no version #): Run the Start-Up Disc, when the connection testing fails press the SELECT button the DUALSHOCK 2 Analog controller for help and the MAC Address will be displayed in a HELP prompt.

• Versions 2.x and 3.x: Run the Start-Up Disc, select "Advanced" from the main menu, and select "Network Tools". Run the "Connection Test". If the connection is unsuccessful, press the TRIANGLE button on your DUALSHOCK 2 Analog controller, then press the X button. The MAC Address will appear on the next screen.

• Version 4.0: With the version 4.0 Online Start-Up Disc, you must have a Broadband network configuration already created on the Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2) before you can view the MAC Address. From the main menu (after accepting the user agreement), select "Create/Edit Your Network Setting", and press the X button on your DUALSHOCK 2 Analog Controller. Select a network configuration profile and press the X button. The MAC Address will appear in the text box on the next screen.

B. To obtain the MAC Address of the SCPH-70000 series PlayStation®2 system:

• Do NOT insert the Online Start-Up Disc.

• From the System main menu, press the TRIANGLE button on your DUALSHOCK 2 Analog controller.

• The MAC Address will appear on the Version Information screen that follows.
