Clearing Internet Cache from a Mac

Safari 4.0 for Macintosh OS X

  1. Close all open Internet browsers.
  2. Open Safari.
  3. Click on Safari in the upper toolbar and Select Reset Safari.
  4. Click Empty Cache and Remove All Cookies.
  5. Click the Reset button.
  6. Exit and re-launch the browser.

Safari 1.0 for Macintosh OS X

  1. Close all open Internet browsers.
  2. Open Safari.
  3. Click on Safari in the upper toolbar and Select Empty Cache.
  4. Click Empty on the Are you sure message box.
  5. Exit and re-launch the browser.

Firefox 3.5 - 3.6 for Macintosh OS X

  1. Close all open Internet browsers.
  2. Open Firefox.
  3. Click Tools in the upper toolbar and select Clear Recent History.
  4. Select the Time Range to clear (drop-down menu). Select Everything to clear all cache.
  5. Click Details to choose what history elements to clear (e.g. cache and cookies).
  6. Click the Clear Now button.
  7. Exit and re-launch the browser.

Firefox 2.0 - 3.0 for Macintosh OS X

  1. Close all open Internet browsers.
  2. Open Firefox
  3. Click on Firefox in the upper toolbar and Select Preferences.
  4. Click the Privacy Icon.
  5. Click Clear Now under the Private Data section.
  6. Close window.
  7. Exit and re-launch the browser.
