Clean Access:

Res-Net Connection Protection
Clean Access is a monitoring system used to validate that all the machines connected to the internet are properly protected against viruses. This system helps reduce the amount of virus infected machines in the residence halls, and therefore PC down time and costly repairs to the students. In order to prepare the machine before arriving to campus, we recommend that the student verify that their Windows Updates are installed, and also that their virus protection software has also been updated.

When students first connect to the Internet in the on-campus Resident Halls the Res-Net Connection Protection service will guide them through the process necessary to get their machine properly protected. If the system is not up to date, the service will include instructions for updating all the Microsoft security patches as well as virus protection.

Requirements for using the system include the installation of the Cisco Clean Access Client for all Windows machines. Mac and Linux machines are not required to install this software.
Routers are not allowed on campus and will not function in the Resident Halls, including, Vonage, Linksys, or any other wireless routers.  Gaming consoles (example: Nintendo Wii systems and also laptops) require Ethernet adapters in order to connect to the Internet.  For more information click here.
