Microbiology
Our Microbiology Core facility provides support and service for a wide range or microbiological research activities, many of which complement the ongoing work within the HTB and Animal Core facilities. This includes the growth, amplification, and characterization of pathogens as well as the purification of pathogens or nucleic acids for use in diagnostic assays. Activities also include the determination of pathogen levels in association with antiviral screens, cell-based biological assays, or from animal tissues. In addition, we will work with you to develop and customize assays to specifically meet your research needs.
Available assays include but are not limited to:
- ELISA
- Hemagglutination/hemagglutination inhibition assays
- Immunofluorescence assays
- Microneutralization assays
- PCR, RT-PCR, real-time PCR
- Plaque assays
- Plaque reduction neutralization assays
