Miracle Monocle Reviews: A Prefatory Note From The Faculty Editor

Dear Readers,

With each issue of Miracle Monocle comes a fresh cohort of editors with exciting and ambitious ideas for renewing and growing the journal. This time around, the idea of exploring new ways of deepening our relationships with the work of our ever-expanding cast of remarkable contributors was at the forefront of many of our weekly editorial discussions. To that end, we launched a new social media initiative in which we've ricocheted word of our contributors' fantastic accomplishments around the internet, a new podcast series in which we've invited contributors to read their work aloud, and we've also endeavored to introduce a new category to our bi-annual issues: Miracle Monocle Reviews. The work is challenging because it entails reading a book-length work only after our final selections have been made for the issue, as well as a fair amount of research and writing, but our three pioneer Reviews editors rose to the challenge with style and grace. We hope you'll enjoy this deeper look into the work of our three selected writers as much as we've enjoyed bringing this new, ambitious idea into being.
