Speak Out Panels
Join the Speak Out Team
Are you an LGBTQ+ identified or ally student who wants to share your story? The Speak Out Team is the place for you! Speak Out panels exist to educate others and make real the experiences of LGBT people in our community. Panels most often occur during the LGBT Center's Safe Zone training which is offered to students, faculty, and staff during the spring and fall semesters. Being part of the team will allow you to enhance your public speaking skills, develop an understanding for best practices for answering difficult questions, and build community with other LGBTQ+ and allied students on campus. Anyone interested in joining the team must first attend training. Note: Training is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Students at other local universities may also attend training.
Training for students interested in becoming team members:
Training upcoming in Fall 2020!
*Attending training does obligate you to participate in a panel. We encourage all who want to find out more about the program to attend.
Did you miss training this year? For more information about the program or becoming a team member contact Katy Garrison
