About International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)
Our Mission
The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office functions as an administrative, advising, and programming unit for all international students and scholars at the University of Louisville. The staff is dedicated in providing excellent service with matters regarding the processing of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) documents and information including visa, travel, employment, extension of stay, and change of status. The staff is committed to your academic and professional success as well as helping you navigate through general issues related to the university. In addition, we invite students and exchange visitors to visit our office for support in difficulties such as language barriers, health problems, finances, personal relationships, homesickness, and any other individual needs. We are also equally dedicated in helping you become acclimated to the city of Louisville and the United States.
Our Service
The ISSS office also coordinates many opportunities and resources for international students and scholars including New International Student Orientation, Work Authorization workshops, such as On-Campus Employment, Curricular Practical Training (CPT), and Optional Practical Training (OPT), International Meet and Greet Luncheons, International Education Week activities, and numerous other events. Additionally, we encourage you to connect and engage with the myriad of different campus activities, student organizations, and support services accessible within the university.
