2020 Staff Recognition Awards
2020 Staff Recognition Awards
Every year the university recognizes staff employees beginning at their ten year service anniversary with the University of Louisville and then continue every five years after. This is typically done with great fanfare at a celebration luncheon each fall. As we are well aware, 2020 has been a year like no other. Unfortunately, we are unable to host our usual Staff Recognition Luncheon this year due to COVID-19. However, it is extremely important - now more than ever - that our staff understand how vital they are to the success of the university. Our honorees this year have reached a service anniversary that is no small feat, and we thank each and every one of you for your dedication to UofL. While we can't be together in one room this year, we dedicate this virtual site to our honorees.
We appreciate you. And we celebrate you.

Points of pride: connecting to our vision
As a service-award recipient this year, you are a vital ambassador of the University's Cardinal Principles and have engaged your passion and dedication for excellence to meet head on one of the most challenging years of our existence. As our vision statement says, “the University of Louisville will be recognized as a great place to learn, a great place to work and a great place in which to invest because we celebrate diversity, foster equity and strive for inclusion.” You are the reason our vision remains unshaken!
We are a great place to learn. In spite of Covid-19, student enrollment increased this year. And university staff were agile in adapting to deliver important student services in new, safer ways.
We are a great place to work. Our staff kept the university moving forward in these demanding times, making sure every aspect of campus operations continued to be successful.
We are a great place in which to invest. Employees gave back to the university at a high rate in 2020, and events like the annual day of giving, Raise Some L, brought in record-breaking donations to support university projects.
We celebrate diversity, foster equity and strive for inclusion. During protests for racial justice in our city, the university committed to an anti-racist agenda and continued to be recognized nationally as a welcoming place for diverse students, faculty and staff.
