Dental and dental hygiene students, along with pediatric residents and faculty, greeted parents and children on the Great Lawn earlier this week as part of the YMCA Healthy Kids Day, an official Kentucky Derby Festival event.

The students and faculty provided free dental screening for kids, and educated parents and children about the importance of proper oral hygiene and good nutrition for creating healthy smiles.

This is one of many strategic community engagement efforts of the School of Dentistry to promote good oral health throughout Kentucky.
