School of Medicine

This chair supports basic biomedical research in the School of Medicine, particularly research that uses highly-specialized technical applications to help solve complex medical problems.
The chair was established through the family foundation of H.W. and Adele Stodghill and matching funds from Kentucky’s Research Challenge Trust Fund. H.W. Stodghill Jr. was cofounder, chief executive officer and president of Independence Life and Accident Insurance Co. in Louisville.
