Endowed Chair in Molectular Signaling

School of Medicine

Established February 2000

The Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Foundation established this endowed chair to advance medical research and education in the field of neurosurgery, particularly related to spinal cord and head injury treatments. The gift was matched by the state's Research Challenge Trust Fund.

A model for other states, the Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Foundation generates money through a surcharge on speeding tickets to support promising research aimed at finding a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.
