AAPI FSA Community Champion Award
First Annual UofL AAPI Faculty and Staff Association Community Champion Award: Chef Edward Lee
We want to thank everyone who came to this event hosted by UofL’s AAPI Faculty and Staff Association. In our mission to build community, promote diversity, and champion action and change for the AAPI populations on campus, this event signifies what that looks like. When we look around this room, we see a myriad of colors, ethnicities, experiences, and values coming together to celebrate the AAPI heritage and learn more about it. As we strive to promote awareness of the experiences of the AAPI community, we also want to reflect on the ways that our AAPI community can give back and foster space and belonging to others in need and how we can offer our resources and experiences in that effort. One simple but important way we can do that is by recognizing AAPI leaders in our community who embody our purpose on this campus as they do so in the wider community.
We are pleased to announce our first AAPI FSA Community Champion Award, and this year’s recipient is Chef Edward Lee for his commitment to community involvement and empowerment through the LEE Initiative. And we recognize Chef Lee’s use of food and the written word to open doors and inspire others to do more for their communities.
