High Temperature Laser Sintering video
This video shows the selective laser sintering equipment adding a layer of fine polymer powder to the machine bed. Then the high temperature laser flashes brightly, and there are hissing and clicking sounds as the laser flashes repeatedly to melt the powder in the designated place and begins forming the desired model from the computer aided design file. Once the entire area is melted it is shiny and solid and the equipment rollers cross the machine bed to lay down another fine layer of powder particles which will begin the process again. This will happen thousands of times, layer upon layer, until the 3D model is complete.
