SpeakOut Panels

SpeakOut Panels for classes, groups, or presentations

Request a Panel

Interested in discussing an LGBT-related topic in your class or meeting? The LGBT Center can provide a trained speaker or panel to address just about any audience. Whatever the setting, we will work with you to tailor the presentation to your specific needs. The most popular format for these discussions is the SpeakOut Panel. This format for discussing issues is made up of a panel of students with an emphasis on their personal coming out stories, the real-life experiences of LGBT people, and interaction with the audience. SpeakOuts are a powerful way to explore diversity, oppression, sexuality, and tolerance. To request a SpeakOut Panel for your class or meeting contact Katy Garrison

Become a Panelist

Are you an LGBT identified or ally student who wants to share your story? The SpeakOut Team is the place for you! SpeakOut panels exist to educate others and make real the experiences of LGBT people in our community. Being a part of the team will allow you to enhance your public speaking skills, develop an understanding for best practices for answering difficult questions, and build community with other LGBT and ally students on campus. Anyone interested in joining the team must first attend training. For more information about becoming a team member contact Katy Garrison
