Teaching Independence to Children with Autism |
Kim Howard, M.Ed. |
What is Independence for children with autism & how do we achieve that? We know that Independence for students & children with autism can look like very different things from person to person. We also know that to have independence of any level as an adult does not happen by accident. It takes careful planning on the part of parents & school teams to help students achieve independence. Planning for Independence should start for a child as a toddler & will continue into adulthood but it’s never too late to begin the journey for independence. Join this webinar to look at the road to independence

Changing Behavior Through Reinforcement Strategies |
Laura Ferguson, M.Ed., BCBA |
Often times when inappropriate behavior occurs in our children, students, or clients we immediately try to come up with strategies on how to extinguish those behaviors. This often leads individuals on a path of ignoring or punishing the inappropriate behaviors. This approach doesn't allow our focus to be on increasing appropriate behaviors. During this webinar we will take a look at how increasing appropriate behaviors through reinforcement strategies can often lead to a decrease in inappropriate behaviors. 1. Participants will leave with an understanding of reinforcement |
