About Us

Every student at the University of Louisville becomes an important part of our strong community; our students who are off-campus, commuter, and transfers are no exception. The Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Involvement are committed to creating opportunities which enhance students’ academic and personal success. This area was created to promote a sense of belonging among off-campus, commuter, and transfer students while offering programs and services to assist students in reaching their full potential through connection to the University of Louisville.

Mission

Belknap Academic Building lobby. The mission of Off-Campus, Commuter, and Transfer Student Engagement is to intentionally design opportunities to improve the quality of the collegiate experience for those students who live in the off-campus area, commute to campus, or did not begin their collegiate experience at the University of Louisville. The area will provide students with information and resources they need to be engaged in the University and their residential communities. Through education and empowerment, students will enhance their ability to adjust both academically and socially to the collegiate environment thus facilitating a meaningful Cardinal experience.

Vision

Through programming initiatives and active participation, students will be acquiring the necessary skills to have an extraordinary off-campus, commuter, or transfer student experience. With this in mind, we encourage and value open communication with these populations to facilitate intentional connection to the University which contributes to creating a meaningful and structured environment striving to improve student retention and persistence to graduation.
