SPHIS Graduate Assistantships

Some programs offer students the opportunity to work on a project 20 hours per week and receive a monthly stipend as well as tuition benefits.  You will need to contact the program directly in order to determine if an assistantship opportunity is available. The MSc in Clinical Investigation Sciences and the MPH Program do not have assistantships at this time.

Student Fees

Students enrolled at SPHIS may be responsible for several fees each semester. SPHIS graduate students taking six or more credit hours are required to pay a technology fee of $100 each fall and spring semester. Click here for more information about fees.

Federal employees now eligible for reduced online program tuition 

UofL is a proud new member of the U.S. Government’s Federal Academic Alliance (FAA) and will provide a 10% tuition scholarship for online programs to eligible federal employees nationwide. This scholarship can be applied to any of UofL’s online programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate and certificate offerings. Our online programs provide the opportunity for non-traditional students to further their education for professional development while balancing work and life, and we’re excited to make it more affordable for our dedicated federal employees. AmeriCorps Education Award

Did you know that there are additional education benefits available to AmeriCorps alumni? Individuals who successfully complete their AmeriCorps term of service and enroll in the National Service Trust, are eligible to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. The educational award to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions including public health degrees offered the UofL School of Public Health & Information Sciences (SPHIS). The best part about choosing to study at UofL SPHIS – we are committed to matching up to a total of $5,000 of the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. HRSA Public Health Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Public Health Scholarship Program (PHSP) is to strengthen the public health workforce by incentivizing individuals to pursue training and careers in public health. HRSA PHSP scholarships are available to UofL students who provide evidence of financial need to cover tuition costs for one of the approved programs. Award amounts may cover partial or full tuition costs for up to one academic year, dependent upon available funding, student financial need, and number of applicants.
