William Nathan Dever
Mary Churchill Humphrey Scholarship
UofL graduate William Nathan Dever has received the Mary Churchill Humphrey Scholarship. The prize is awarded by the College of Arts and Sciences. Dever will use the award to pursue a master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
“Thanks to this award, I will be able to make the most of my time at the University of Edinburgh, and focus on my studies in a way which would not have been otherwise possible."
Areas of Study:
- Graduated in 2018 from the College of Arts and Sciences with a major in political science.
Other recognition and honors:
- Jean and Eleanor O’Sullivan Award, Department of Political Science
This opportunity would not have been possible without the significant time Dr. Steven Brooke, Dr. David Buckley, and Dr. Kristopher Grady invested in me during my studies in the political science department. Each of them took the time to get to know me, as well as my specific academic interests, creating an environment where I was constantly encouraged to explore my own interests through the material being taught in the classroom.
