Justin D. Smith Justin hails from the town of Tonganoxie, KS, and received his dual B.S. in chemistry from the University of Kansas and Universität Regensburg in 2011. He started building houses in the family business at age 13, but has since decided to focus on building molecules, particularly with environmentally sustainable methodologies. |

Uyen Duong, Uyen is currently a graduate student in the department of chemistry and Conn Center for renewable energy research. She received B.S. in Organic Chemistry from Vietnam National University in 2008, and M.S. in Biochemistry at University of Louisville. Her current research interest is the direct isolation of lignin from lignocellulose through catalytic pathways. |

Lucie Finck Lucie is a fourth-year undergrad from the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Montpellier, France. Her research interest is the development of transition-metal free green synthetic methodologies. |

David Kline David is an undergraduate student at The University of Louisville, majoring in Economics while Pre-Med. He is from Prospect, KY and graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Oldham High School, in 2015. In the past, David has spent time shadowing numerous surgeons in the fields of both cardiothoracic and general surgery. He has a special interest in medicinal chemistry and hopes to one day attend medical school. |

Jesse Klus Jesse is an undergraduate student at the University of Louisville, majoring in both Chemistry and Spanish and minoring in Biology. She is from Lexington, KY and graduated from Sayre School in 2016. She is involved in a nanocatalysis project. She has a strong passion for doing a Ph.D. in Chemistry. |

Josh Portillo Joshua is in his second semester at the University of Louisville, pursuing a degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Joshua graduated from St. Xavier high school in 2014. His current research work is the development of photocatalytic transformations in water. |

Rachel Armstrong Rachel is an undergraduate student at The University of Louisville, majoring in Biology. Recently, she received the SROP fellowship for conducting research on the photocatalysis in water. She has a particular interest in the organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry and hopes to one day attend medical school. |

Graham Reynolds Graham studied at the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Math & Science with a focus on Chemistry and now studies Biochemistry at UofL. He has previously done research with the University of Louisville under Dr. Nobuyuki Matoba at the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center in Owensboro, Kentucky where he's from. |

Bhavana Pavuluri Bhavana is a sophomore at the duPont Manual High school. She is an MST student and participates in clubs such as Science Olympiad and Science Bowl. She is currently the Associate Director of Funding for STEMY, a student-run nonprofit organization. Currently, she is a summer student in our group. She will also continue her research work (part-time) in Fall 2018. Currently, she is working on C-H functionalization with Dr. Bora. |
