Michael Mardis

Michael Mardis, the vice president for student affairs and dean of students, is a three-time graduate of the University of Louisville, having earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Organizational Development from the university. With 30 years of professional experience working in Student Affairs and Higher Education, Dr. Mardis is passionate about creating a vibrant campus life and improving student success. 

As the chief student affairs officer, Dr. Mardis oversees the following areas: University Housing and the Resident Experience, Campus Health, Career Services, Counseling, Student Support Services (Grant), Student Engagement, Campus Recreation and Wellness, PEACC, Student Activities Center, Student Government, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Dean of Students Office, Commuter and Transfer Initiatives, Parent and Family Programs, Service and International Service Learning, Student Grievance, and Student Advocacy.
