Note: We admit students on a rolling basis. The preferred deadlines help you complete the application process on time, be notified of acceptance and enroll before the term begins. We review applications as they become complete, and admit students for a specific term up to the day classes start. We recommend you work on and submit your complete application well in advance of the preferred deadline, as obtaining transcripts and other materials may take more time.

  3. Official transcript certifying at least a bachelor's degree
    • All transcripts not in English must be certified as authentic and translated verbatim into English.

The prerequisites to the EM program are "Introduction to Statistics" and "Calculus I". If not completed in previous degree, these two courses (or equivalent) can be completed prior to admission or during the first semester of the EM program.


Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field from an accredited institution
    • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Applicants with GPA below the recommended 2.75 may be considered for admission and asked to submit additional criteria, including recommendation letters, resume or personal statement.

International Students

If you live outside of the United States and intend to complete an online academic program from your home country, please view our special requirements for international students.

 

UofL’s online Six Sigma Graduate Certificate is a 4-course, 9-credit hour program. Courses are completed over 8-week terms. You will be eligible to take the Black Belt certification test offered through IISE after completion of EM 684 and EM 685 as well as a successful project (which is usually completed in your current workplace).
