UofL’s Graduate Certificate in Six Sigma provides students with techniques and knowledge in mission-critical business areas such as: cutting costs, increasing revenue and productivity, as well as overall strategies for improvement of processes. Graduates will be ready to complete the Six Sigma Black Belt examination through the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE).

The prerequisites to the EM program are "Introduction to Statistics" and "Calculus I". If not completed in previous degree, these two courses (or equivalent) can be completed prior to admission or during the first semester of the EM program.

UofL’s online Six Sigma Graduate Certificate is a 4-course, 9-credit hour program. Courses are completed over 8-week terms. You will be eligible to take the Black Belt certification test offered through IISE after completion of EM 684 and EM 685 as well as a successful project (which is usually completed in your current workplace).
Note: You will be required to maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to graduate.
